What are display ads?
Display ads (boxed ads) are visual advertisements published in the NewsHopper to effectively reach the local community and promote your business. Pricing starts at just $12.50 per column inch.
How do I submit a display ad?
Submit your display ad by either emailing us or using the online submission form available on our website. Please send high-resolution images (preferably in .jpg format), your logo or any informational flyers (preferably in .pdf format) to hopper@newshopper.net.
What sizes are available for display ads?
We offer multiple ad sizes, including full-page, half-page, quarter-page, and custom dimensions to suit your needs.
What are the actual measurements for popular sizes?
The NewsHopper is printed in a 6-column broadsheet format. Each column measures 1.6111 inches wide, equivalent to 9 picas and 8 points for those familiar with publishing measurements.

• A full-page advertisement spans 10.5 inches in width and 21.25 inches in height (not available on front page.)
• A half-page horizontal advertisement spans 10.5 inches in width and 10.5417 inches in height.
• A half-page vertical advertisement spans 5.1667 inches in width and 21.25 inches in height (not available on front page.)
• A quarter-page horizontal advertisement spans 10.5 inches in width and 5.23 inches in height.
• A quarter-page vertical advertisement spans 5.1667 inches in width and 10.5417 inches in height.
• An eighth-page advertisement spans 5.1667 inches in width and 5.23 inches in height.
• A sixteenth-page advertisement spans 5.1667 inches in width and 2.5729 inches in height.
When submitting an ad, ensure the digital PDF is properly sized in the correct dimensions, high resolution, and “camera ready.” Convert all graphics to CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) with a resolution of 200 DPI or higher.
What are the rates for display ads?
Rates vary based on ad size and placement. There are discounts for advertising frequency. Color is extra. Contact us for more information.

What is a Column Inch?
Column inches in a measurement to help determine advertising costs. Each NewsHopper page consists of six columns. For example, if you want to run a black-and-white ad that measures 1 column wide (1.6111 inches) by 4 inches tall, it equals 4 column inches. The cost for this ad would be $50.00, calculated as 1 column wide x 4 inches tall x $12.50 per column inch = $50.00.

When is your deadline?
Deadlines are typically Mondays at noon, but holiday schedules can require earlier submissions. Submitting ahead of time is always encouraged.
How far in advance should I book my ad?
We suggest reserving your ad space at least two weeks prior to the publication date. For the best chance of securing your desired edition and page placement, consider reaching out to us about an annual ad package.
